Laura and Kirby's Wedding 03.14.09

I had the honor of shooting Laura and Kirby's wedding. I have known Laura for several years and it was exciting to get to spend her special day with her. I spent Friday evening with them at the wedding rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner. Her theme as you will see below was very fairytale-princess. It reminded me of a wedding every little girl dreams of!!!
Laura and Kirby got married at Grace Tabernacle in Wildwood. The wedding was absolutely beautiful!!! They even wrote their own vows to each other!!! My eyes were misty before the ceremony even started. As a wedding gift from Laura to Kirby was a journal that she had been writing since 2005 to her future husband. She completed the journal the morning of the wedding with an entry to her new husband.

Laura's hair was amazing!! It was done by her friend Heather! It turned out beautiful!
The bridal party processed in to the song "A Dream is a Wish", the Flower girls and Ring bearers processed in to the song "Wishes" from the Disney Wishes Fireworks show, and the entrance of the Bride and Groom was to "A Whole New World" from Aladdin.

The bridal party consisted of 9 attendants on each side (not including the flower girls or ring bearers) . They were family members and close friends. We had fun with the poses and chose to do something different rather than traditional. The bride's mother found a prom set that she purchased to use as props and sets for the ceremony as well as at the reception.

Dory and Alexis were so adorable =)

Thank you to Laura and Kirby for letting me photograph your special day! It was truly a blessing to be there with you guys. I wish you the best and hope you have many years to come!! I love you guys!

Charissa Faith

Wow! Just when I thought taking pictures of a 3 year old were difficult at least most of the time they cooperate more for you than little ones on the go!! =)
Charissa turned one on Feb. 13th and I hadn't really had the chance to take too many pictures of her since then!! I have always tried to take pictures of them at each age in some form or another. I used to make signs on the computer for Josie when she was little and took them monthly until she turned a year old.
In these shots I'm using our homemade numbers again! This time of course the number 1! Charissa thought the number tasted pretty good. I'm not sure that these are going to hold up to the necessary standards for the little ones!!
I've also learned that taking pictures AFTER they have had a nap works SO much better!!

Enjoy!!

Little Miss Charissa =)

Above is the happy baby we all know so well!

I love how she held the number! That just happened it was most definitely NOT posed!

Josie's Third Birthday Photo Shoot

I did a short photo shoot of Josie today! She's very excited about turning three or "free" as she says it! I have been looking around for numbers to be able to include them in my shots and my mom came up with the idea to make them ourselves out of foam. So in the picture you see the foam number 3 for Josie turning 3!!!

The homemade numbers really turned out well! Much cheaper too!!!

Random candid pose of Josie and her number 3 above!

This one is one of my favorite shots of her! She loves the camera!

The numbers seem to be a good size for now to at least start out with!!! I'm working on getting the rest of them together! So call us for a photo shoot!!!

Hello Everyone!!!

Hello Everyone!!!

I'm starting this blog so that I can post some of my pictures and show some of my work that I have done recently. I'm working on setting up a website but I have to figure out which host site will be best to use.

I will be looking for people and places to take pictures of so if anyone would like to do a photo shoot please let me know!!! I'm working on cleaning out my garage of all of our boxes (yea!!!) so that I can set an area up in the garage to shoot pictures!! I have looked at a few different places to have a studio and I think this way is going to be the cheapest and most convenient way to start out!!! I'm excited because I feel like I'm finally getting somewhere with all of this. I know I have an eye for it and can do it, I just had to figure out where to start!!!

So if anyone is interested in doing a photo shoot please contact me at shellywardphotography@gmail.com with your contact information, who or what I will be taking pictures of and when you would like to set it up!!
